Dr. Vanessa L. Willetts - Chiropractic Physician

Balancing the whole person to cultivate wellness

I help people who are struggling with a wide range of health issues. We work together as a team to decrease pain, improve function, and create a greater sense of well-being throughout the body. Some common areas of practice involve:

- Neck Pain, Headaches and Back Pain
- Repetitive Stress Injury / Ergonomics
- Pre-Natal Chiropractic Care
- Digestive Problems
- Menstrual Pain or Distress

In my practice, I employ a range of techniques to treat the whole patient, including both traditional chiropractic adjustments as well as low-force techniques (which involve no "popping" or "cracking"). I also utilize muscular rehabilitation, strengthening and stretching exercises, salivary hormone testing, mind-body techniques for stress reduction and focused nutritional counseling.

My methods address the whole person rather than just clusters of symptoms. I also aim to educate and aid my patients through nutrition, exercise, posture and better use of the body with my holistic, wellness-based approach. Email Dr.Willetts@gmail.com or call 773-571-2372 for more information or to schedule an appointment.

Shiatsu - Tim Wang

Shiatsu (from the Japanese word "shi", meaning finger, and "atsu" meaning pressure) is a form of therapeutic massage with roots in Chinese medical theory dating back over 2500 years. Using the basic principles of acupuncture, Shiatsu operates on the understanding that our health, both physical and emotional, is a reflection of the condition of energy flowing through the body in pathways called meridians. During a Shiatsu treatment, energy imbalances (either excesses or deficiencies) are identified and relieved through focused pressure applied to specific points along the meridians. With the use of direct pressure, localized kneading, and stretches, Shiatsu opens both the physical and energetic body.

To receive Shiatsu, you wear loose, comfortable clothes. No oil is used. The work is applied at your comfort level and should never be painful.

After a session, you can feel more relaxed, sore tight muscles can be looser, and you should feel energized. Amongst other things, Shiatsu is good for mental stress, physical tension, muscular knots, lower back pain, sore necks, and general relaxation. Regular sessions are a great way to improve and maintain your health.

1-hour session=$95, 1.5-hour session=$135
